Pole Creek Ladies Golf League
Open to all women living (full or part-time) in Grand County who love to play golf, enjoy the outdoors and have fun together. Pole Creek Golf Course is our home course, where we play 18 of the 27 amazing holes on any given Thursday morning during the golf season (late May-October).
Our group has been around for over 30 years and we’ve seen players on all levels join in the fun. Our players typically can shoot 120 or less during a round of 18 holes. Weekly, our Tournament Chairs pick a game that awards prizes for 1-2-3 place finishes (gross and net scoring). Additionally, you can sign up to participate in the “Putt Pot” (lowest total putts for the round) and “Chip In” (highest number of chip ins per round) to win additional prize money.
Handicaps are established by all players during the season and help to ‘level the playing field’ for our games. Weekly games have always had both gross and net winners. Pairings are done by the Club Pro using a computer-generated pairing software. We work to pair people of all levels together, so members get the benefit of learning from each other (and meeting new members).
We’re part of the Colorado Golf Association and all handicaps are created and managed through the CGA. With your membership, you’ll have access to all the great work CGA provides throughout the state. You can join in other tournaments, volunteer for events and become as active a member as you desire.
We host two ‘official’ luncheon meetings for our group. In late May, our season starts off with a luncheon to reestablish rules, tournament schedules and reconnect with new and old friends. Our Club Championship (2 day event) wraps up with a luncheon meeting to announce winners for Championship play and other season-long challenges. Additionally, there are social events throughout the season. Everyone’s invited to attend and enjoy these events.
We have a Leadership Board comprised of President Madelyne Stevens, Vice President Sue Seemann, Treasurer Pam Buderus, Secretary Susan Odneal and Tournament Chairs Mary Byerrum and Pat Wischmann. There are lots of committee chairs and assistants that help to make our totally volunteer organization run smoothly and make being a part of the group fun.
We’d love to have you join us to come see what we’re all about! There’s never any pressure to become a member but rather a welcoming group who enjoy every Thursday morning together. Please contact Jeanne Nicoulin (Membership Chairman) at 720.339.7783 or via email at [email protected] She’ll fill you in and help make arrangements for your Day of Play.
