Pole Creek Ladies Golf Association History

The Pole Creek Ladies Golf Association (Grand County, Colorado) was founded in 1983 when Pole Creek had only the Meadow Course open.  In those days, the group played The Meadow twice each Thursday.  Joy Webb was elected President and Jan Waldron did the other jobs necessary to keep the group running smoothly. This small, but mighty, group of 18 avid women golfers created games and found a great way to enjoy a round of golf for the love of the game. The Ranch Course opened in August,1984 creating an amazing 18-hole golf course.  In 1985, Pole Creek won Golf Digest’s prestigious “Best New Public Golf Course in North America”.  The course was designed b y Dennis Griffiths.  In 1999, he added to his design 9 more holes, the Ridge.  This 27 hole mountain course has received many awards including #1 Mountain Golf Course by Golf Advisor and top rankings for it’s course conditions, scenic views and overall golf experience.

The Ladies Golf Club here at Pole Creek has continued to grow as well.  We now have over 50 ladies in our club!  We welcome any and all women who want to join a group and make new friends while enjoying a fun round of golf each week. Typically, our golfers can shoot 120 or less for a round of 18 holes.
